~~ THE ENERGY OF WORDS~~NATIVE AMERICAN WISDOM

The spoken and written word have a very powerful energy. Not only does it impact our psyche, but, it disseminates information  that is important for our survival within our  society. It permits us to know where we came from and what choices in the future we may have  in this life. Having said that, the spoken word can be deceiving and even hypnotize you based on the delivery and intent.

I have always said that we have to look at the spirit of the word and the intent. Same can be said for religions. ~~ In Christianity Jesus inspired the new testament in which he promotes the spirit of the law vs. the letter of the law.

 ~~~~~~
The process of the written word is different than the spoken word. There are no tone or affects from a voice to influence your feeling about the meaning of the word delivered. Believe it or not, other people may still interpret the same written word differently than you. This has to do with their spirit and preconceived notions they have inside them.
The ultimate test of one's word is his action. I am sure you have heard the saying "Actions speak louder than words".
I suggest that we remember that we are  all interconnected and are one with  all on earth.Thus, ~~ we can distinguish what is  the true message behind the words.
The following "Elder's meditation" comes from my dear Native American friend, Tall deer,  who is the owner of a group called "Cherokee Place of Peace" on care2.com.
"Elder's Meditation of the Day
"Words hypnotize and deceive everyone at one time or another, but these hypnotic words cannot last long in the hearts of true warriors."
--Barney Bush, SHAWNEE
We are a part of an interconnected system. Words in themselves have no meaning. It is the spirit and intent behind the words that really show the meaning. We are connected to each other at the center of the atom which makes up the air and our body. The center of the air's atom system is connected to the center of our body's system. I am connected to you and you are connected to me in the center of our being. If my words have no meaning, you can feel this through the center of your being.
Great Spirit, help me make my word good. Let me do the things I say I will, and let me say the things I will do - and do it."
The Native Americans believed in story telling as did most indigenous people around the world as a form of education and distinguishing good from evil. The Elders shared their experiences in life. One can say this was a meeting of Schooling and Church combined.
May we all speak from the heart as we celebrate this life in unity, peace, harmony and love!
